I have my own producer/engineer/etc and just need help working out a budget for my project and booking studio time. Can you help out?

Definitely. We have a lot of experience in working with different sized budgets and would love to help.

I have an old tape reel/casette/minidisc/etc and would love to transfer it to some other form. Can you help out?

Sure. Just e-mail us and let us know what you need.

Do you guys make beats?

For the most part no, but we can definitely recommend some really talented people.

Do you work with languages other than English?

Most of our team primarily speaks English. Let us know what language you speak and we’ll try to make it work.

What types of music do you work on?

Pretty much anything.

Can I bring my own producer/engineer to a session?

It depends on the situation. Contact us and let us know what you’re thinking.

Do you need any interns or runners?

Not currently.

Are you a publishing company?

Nope. But we could help you find one.

I have a home studio and just need to record ___. Is that cool?

Absolutely. If you prefer to work on your own music, and just need to some help getting it done, e-mail us and let us know what you need.

Do you do post/sound for film at all?

Halftone tries to specialize in music, but we have many contacts in the post world. If you’re looking for sound design/post mixing/film composing we’d be more than happy to recommend someone.

I’m a singer/songwriter with no band members. Would you be able to do a full production of my songs with session musicians?

Definitely. We have a huge network of session musicians all over the world who play on our projects. Whether it’s melodica or pedal steel, we know someone.

How much does it cost to make an album/mix a song/etc?

Probably the most common question we get. There is no easy response. The short answer is “however much you can afford.” Halftone Productions has a lot of experience with all kinds of budgets, from making records for almost free to full blown big budgets. Different kinds of situations call for different amounts of money. Making a one song demo that is acoustic guitar and voice is far cheaper than doing a full band record with a complete orchestra. The best way to get an answer going is to contact us here and let us know what you’re hoping to accomplish.
